Colorado Homeschool Support Groups

Homeschool support groups in your state are an excellent way to gain more assistance and guidance in your homeschooling endeavors. A regional support group fosters a wonderful sense of community among homeschooling families and allows for more opportunities to exchange ideas, plan group outings, and share in the overall experience of homeschooling! While Calvert supports the development of community between homeschooling families, this list does not constitute affiliation between Calvert Education and the groups represented below.

CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS OF COLORADO (CHEC)

CHEC is a nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to providing information, resources, and leadership to all families involved in home-centered education. We believe that parents—committing time and resources to provide their children with an academically excellent education, grounded in proper values—have the potential to affect the very course of our nation as their children grow up to become competent Christian leaders in the years to come. CHEC is committed to the advancement of home education and consider it part of our mission to help ease the burden of this responsibility for all families across Colorado involved in home-centered education.

COMMON GROUND HOMESCHOOLERS

Common Ground Homeschoolers is an inclusive group of families seeking educational alternatives for our children. We follow no specific religious or political agenda, nor do we espouse any particular educational or homeschool philosophy. We welcome all independently learning families and choose to honor our differences while building on our combined strengths. We offer park days, field trips, monthly teachers’ nights out, co-ops, opportunities for presentations, and other activities.

METRO NORTH EAST HOMESCHOOLERS (MNEHS)

Metro North East Homeschoolers is a group comprised of a variety of families with many learning styles. Our families have children ranging in age from infant through high school. Our views on education are as varied as the ages of our children; from unschoolers to those using home-based charter schools. Our goal is to provide a safe, friendly environment for our children to socialize and develop friendships. Since there is no group “leader,” everyone is welcome, and encouraged, to suggest activities and provide input into group direction.
