Homeschool support groups in your state are an excellent way to gain more assistance and guidance in your homeschooling endeavors. A regional support group fosters a wonderful sense of community among homeschooling families and allows for more opportunities to exchange ideas, plan group outings, and share in the overall experience of homeschooling! While Calvert supports the development of community among homeschooling families, this list does not constitute affiliation between Calvert Education and the groups represented below.
Serving the Cabarrus County area, this association is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian homeschool support group dedicated to providing options, tools, and encouragement to home educators and their families. We offer activities such as drama classes, Science Fair, Skate Day, Fundamentals of Music, Spelling Bee, Gavel Club, Swim Day, bowling, bootball, BMX racing, baseball, basketball, Mom’s Night Out, picnics, Nursing Home Ministry, library appreciation, field trips, and many other activities. Our monthly newsletter and e-group keep everyone up to date.

HEArts is a Wilmington-based online news group and real-time activity group for homeschoolers. Our group is for families using creative, integrated techniques to facilitate learning at home. We are a fully inclusive, nonsectarian group that embraces diversity. We also plan park play dates, field trips, parties, and spontaneous activities.

HCHA is a Christian co-op support group for homeschooling families within the greater Hendersonville area. Academic activities include fall and spring enrichment classes, geography and spelling bee, history and science fair, international night, yearbook, newsletter, used book sale, and group standardized testing. Social activities includes annual Valentine skating party, fall family picnic, father-son camp-out, father-daughter night, dad’s monthly breakfast fellowship, mom’s night out, monthly Heart-to-Heart meetings, nursing home ministry, and quarterly parent meetings.
