Oklahoma Homeschool Support Groups

Homeschool support groups in your state are an excellent way to gain more assistance and guidance in your homeschooling endeavors. A regional support group fosters a wonderful sense of community among homeschooling families and allows for more opportunities to exchange ideas, plan group outings, and share in the overall experience of homeschooling! While Calvert supports the development of community among homeschooling families, this list does not constitute affiliation between Calvert Education and the groups represented below.

CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS FELLOWSHIP (C.H.E.F) of Oklahoma

When C.H.E.F. was officially organized in 1984, the founding families felt that a home educational organization whose sole purpose was to meet educational needs was not enough. Since they were coming from a Christian perspective, home education, to them, had a much greater significance than just academics. Their convictions were based upon a Christian world view. Although they recognized the right of any individual of any persuasion to home educate, they chose to limit membership to their organization to only those of similar Christian beliefs and standards.

While the founding families did not want to discriminate against any particular Christian denomination, they did want to only include those potential members whose beliefs were consistent with traditional evangelical Christianity. Thus the Statement of Faith that we now have was written.
